Now I hope that most of you know who I am, or at least know someone who is connected to me. Please – six degrees of separation is cool and all, but I’m thinking more of one…
So I’m Adam. I’m 20 and I’m a Junior at American University in Washington DC, where I study International Studies and Economics. I grew up in typical suburbia outside of Pittsburgh and have ventured to the American Capital.
Now I am traveling overseas for a semester to study at the American University in Cairo (AUC, which has no affiliation with AU in DC). I have been to the Middle East once before, but only for two weeks, so this journey will be unlike anything I have done in the past and will probably be unlike anything I will ever experience again in the future.
I love traveling, politics, and just being a college kid.

My dear Adam…Glad to hear you arrived safely in Cairo. It sounds as if all air travel went as planned? Today’s Orlando Sentinel says the high temp in Cairo today should be 100; ours is “only” to be 94…cooling off at last.
I love your blog site and didn’t realize the last week at AU was couch hopping. Only youngsters with good backs could endure that.
Love you lots; hope you get this. xoxo Gram
